TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club announced today that the team has signed 2015 CFL Draft picks WR Matthew Norzil and RB Dillon Campbell. The club has also signed National OL Austin Roy as well as three international players: DB A.J. Jefferson, RB Henry Josey, and DB Jordan Sullen.
Norzil, the Argonauts fourth round (30th overall) draft pick, spent the last four seasons at Laval University. The 2012 RSEQ All-Star, caught 41 passes for 643 yards with the Rouge et Or.
Campbell, a fifth round (39th overall) 2015 CFL Draft selection, led the CIS and OUA in rushing in 2014 with 186 carries for 1,458 yards and 13 touchdowns while adding 12 catches for 206 yards. The Whitby, Ontario native was named a first-team All-Canadian and OUA All-Star, and named the OUA’s MVP and nominee for the Hec Creighton award last season.
Austin Roy, a 6-3, 305-pound native of Lively, Ontario, spent the last three seasons at Michigan Tech after transferring from York University. He played 19 games at MTU.
Jefferson arrives in Toronto after previously spending time with Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, and Seattle Seahawks over the last five NFL seasons. In 43 NFL games, the former Fresno State Bulldog registered 109 combined tackles, two interceptions and 19 passes defended.
Josey, a 5-10, 198-pound native of Angleton, Texas spent the 2014 season with the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings. The Missouri product amassed 2,771 yards and 30 touchdowns on 395 carries during his time with the Tigers.
Sullen, a 6-0, 200-pound, native of New Orleans, Louisiana, spent time in the NFL with the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014. In four seasons at Tulane, he registered 96 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, 20 pass breakups, three interceptions and one forced fumble with the Green Wave.
