The
Argonauts will play their first home game since the 2007 East Final. The home
crowd will have a host of new faces to learn, but they won’t be disappointed by
the talent. Newcomers on offence like WR #83 Bethel Johnson, who scored
a 77-yard touchdown from Michael Bishop on the first play from scrimmage last
week in Montreal, and RB #25 Jamal Robertson, who tore through the Als
defence, will play at Rogers Centre for the first time. Off-season acquisition
WR #82 TJ Acree will suit up for the first Argos game as will 20-year
old RB #42 Da’Shawn Thomas.

On
Defence, former NFL first round draft pick CB #23 Willie Middlebrooks will
replace the injured Khalil Carter and DE #95 Richard Seigler, who
played well in Montreal last week, will have his first taste of Rogers Centre.
2007 draft pick LB #54 Eric Maranda dressed against the Als last week
but didn’t see the field as an injury precaution – he should see his fair share
of time on Thursday.

Head
Coach Rich Stubler will make his Rogers Centre debut as bench boss and
he has already named his starting quarterback for the night – 2007 CFL MOP Kerry
Joseph
. His rationale is that Michael Bishop started last week so
it’s Kerry’s turn this game.
