What to Look For:
DT Adriano Belli will sing the national anthem at this week’s game. Belli’s fund, The Big Kiss
Fund, raises money and awareness in support of Sick Kids hospital in Toronto. He appeared on
Canadian Idol earlier this year and will perform the national anthem as his final act.
Preview:
QB Kerry Joseph will start for the first time since September 12 and RB Jamal Robertson will start in the backfield as Dominique Dorsey rests a leg injury.
Joseph has started 12 games this season and thrown for more than 2600 yards. Coach Matthews is hopeful the change of pace at QB will ignite the offence which has had difficulty scoring lately. Robertson, who was inactive last week, has four touchdowns this season, tied for second-most on the team, and 503 all-purpose yards.
Veteran OG Jude St. John will return to his spot at left guard after healing a stubborn hamstring injury and WR Keith Stokes will make his 2008 Argos debut. The former CFL Most Outstanding Special Teams Player had been playing with the Manchester Wolves of AF2 and the coaching staff agrees that he appears to be in excellent condition.
The Argos’ new-look 4-3 defence has been a positive change over recent weeks and the destructive pair of DE Claude Harriott and DT Walter Curry will challenge the Lions’ all-star laden front line.
The Argonauts head to Winnipeg next Friday, October 10 then return to Rogers Centre to take on the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday, October 18, 3:00 p.m. kickoff. Tickets are available by calling 416-872-5000 or click here.
