After a week and a half of ‘shuffling the deck’ in the Argos receiving corps, QB Kerry Joseph will have, virtually, a new starting set of pass catchers in his arsenal.

The post-Arland Bruce era, combined with injuries have forced Andrus to dress a group of starters that includes WR Tyler Scott as the player with the most experience in the Argos’ system.  Listed as starters alongside Scott are rookie WR Hank Edwards and newcomers Cory Rodgers and Chad Lucas.

Despite only joining the Boatmen this week, the lack of time with the club does not seem to phase Lucas, who has previously worked under head coach Bart Andrus.

“I feel like I have a little bit of a mental edge because Bart and I were together in NFL Europa and it is the same terminology so I know what he expects of me”, the former Amsterdam Admiral stated.

Andrus added, “I can say this, I feel very good about our receiving corps right now.  I have the upmost confidence in them and I think our quarterbacks feel very good about this group right now”.

The shuffle in the offence isn’t the only change in the Argos’ lineup as both CB Matt Black and DS Tang Bacheyie have been added to the injured list which will keep WR Andre Talbot on it for at least foreseeable future.  As a result, CB Delroy Clarke and the aforementioned Rodgers, Lucas and Scott have been added.

Defensively, the Argos are preparing for each one of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ quarterbacks, including former Boatman Michael Bishop, who joined the club late Sunday night.

“We are going to prepare for everybody and we have to be aware of each quarterbacks’ strengths”, said veteran CB Jordan Younger.  “LeFors is more of a timing guy while Bishop is more of a big-play guy”.

Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. and it is Family Day at Rogers Centre.  For tickets, please call 416-872-5000 or click here to purchase online.  Following the game, the Boatmen will begin preparation for the Montreal Alouettes before returning home to face the B.C. Lions on August  14.
