Day 4:
Atlantic Canada finally showed it true colours yesterday with the temperature hovering around 14C and constant rains throughout the day. However, mother nature was no match for a focused group of Toronto Argonauts as we had another great day of practice. All three phases were crisp in their assignments so all that’s left is to prepare our bodies for a dogfight vs. the Eskimos on Sunday.
The highlight of last night was the team sponsor reception & dinner held at City Grill. Argos President and CEO Bob Nicholson greeted our friends who have helped with Touchdown Atlantic, our corporate partners & the CFL sponsor and marketing division as we mingled with the great people responsible for the exposure we receive.
The four Argos captains, Jeremaine Copeland, Rob Murphy, Bryan Crawford, & I, were given the floor to introduce every member of the football team & share a brief nugget of information (funny or otherwise).
The bond on this team is as strong as any I’ve ever been around, including university. To see professional athletes get to know each other away from the sport only allows the trust to build on the field through good & bad situations.
Today, we’ll finally visit the site of the Touchdown Atlantic game – Universite de Moncton Stadium – and begin to visualize the raucous crowd that awaits us on Sunday!
