By The Numbers: Cory Boyd

ARGONAUTS.CA STAFF

TORONTO – After another tremendous performance this past week against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Argos rookie running back has hit the 1000-yard rushing mark faster than any other player in Argonauts’ history.  Only eleven games into his CFL career, argonauts.ca breaks down some of Cory Boyd’s more impressive metrics in the latest edition of By The Numbers.

1,048 Cory Boyd has already amassed a league-leading 1,048 yards thus far in 2010.

11 It only took 11 games for Boyd to hit the 1,000-yard mark, becoming the fastest player in club history to do so

1,524 Should Boyd continue his torrid pace and remain healthy, he could finish the season with 1,524 rushing yards,
good for the highest single-season total in club history.

8 Boyd became only the eighth player in Argos history to rush for over 1,000 yards with his performance last week against Saskatchewan.

2 Boyd’s 1000-yard season, combined with Jamal Robertson’s 2009 numbers, has produced only the second consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons in club history. The previous was recorded by Michael Jenkins in 2000/2001.

5 The South Carolina product now sits in a tie (with Leon McQuay) for 3rd on the Argos’ All-Time Most 100-Yard Games In A Season List with five.

3 Boyd is tied with Dick Shatto and ‘Cookle’ Gilchrist for second in most consecutive 100-yard games with three.
