TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club would like to congratulate K/P Swayze Waters who has been named CFL Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in Week 15 against Edmonton.
Swayze is coming off a home win against the Eskimos where he connected on six (6) field goals (a long of 47-yards) and one single. He totalled 21 kicking points in the contest as the Argos pulled out a 33-32 nail bitter. With his effort on Saturday, Swayze now sits first in the CFL in total kicking points with 132 and is also first in the CFL in punting average with an average punt of 49 yards.
Waters previously earned CFL Special Teams Player of the Week during Week 19 of 2012, and was awarded Special Teams Player of the Month for July earlier this season (2014).
Swayze Waters and his Double Blue teammates continue their October homestand this Friday, October 10 when their East Division rivals, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, visit Rogers Centre for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff. It’s Purolator Tackle Hunger Night and fans are reminded to bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation to the game in support of Toronto Daily Bread Food Bank.
