TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts will follow last week’s thrilling home win by taking on another East Division opponent, the Montreal Alouettes, this Saturday, October 18 at 4:00 p.m. at Rogers Centre. It’s the CFL Pink game, presented by the Toronto Sun, and the stakes are high on and off the field for both teams. They are tied in the standings and battling for first place on the field, but share the common goal of tackling women’s cancers off of it.

Ray named CFL Offensive Player of the Week |
Argos football, presented by Desjardins, features two of the hottest teams in the CFL. The Double Blue are winners of three-straight games, while Montreal has won five of their past six contests. Toronto QB Ricky Ray is the reigning CFL Offensive Player of the Week after accounting for 4 touchdowns against the Ticats (3 throwing and 1 rushing), and standout receiver John Chiles finally returned to the lineup to lead all Argos receivers with a spectacular 123-yard performance.
For this week, the Toronto Argonauts’ CFL Pink charity will be Ovarian Cancer Canada (OCC). Few people know that ovarian cancer is one of the most common forms of women’s cancer, and among the most fatal. Proceeds from this week’s 50/50 draw will benefit OCC, and fans are being asked to make a donation to OCC in exchange for this week’s game program.
Argos and Alouettes players will wear pink accents with their uniforms, including tape and gloves, this week, and the 2014 Argos Cheerleaders, presented by the Toronto Sun, will sport pink poms. The Alouettes cheerleaders will also be on-hand! As has become tradition for the Pink game, the Argos Alumni Cheerleaders will take the field at halftime.
Pink vignettes will be played on the in-stadium video board throughout the contest and will feature Argos Pink ambassadors Jason Barnes (whose mother lost her battle with breast cancer in 2007), Chad Owens (whose aunt is a cancer survivor), and cheerleader Madison (both she and her mother are cancer survivors).
Up-and-coming country music artist Kaitlin Kozell will perform the national anthem, and the game ball will be delivered by Peter Greene and Ron CinqMars from Ovarian Cancer Canada. Steve Mastoras from Rotary Club of Toronto and Mike Power from the Toronto Sun will handle opening kickoff. Ashley Courtis from the Toronto Sun will participate in this week’s coin toss.
At every home game this season, the 2014 Argos Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar, presented by RedTag.ca, will be on-sale. Fans can purchase their very own copy for just $20 from any of the beautiful and talented members of the 2014 Argos Cheerleaders, presented by the Toronto Sun, on the concourse during the game.
Fans are encouraged to head over to Shoeless Joe’s Sports Grill at 276 King Street West after the game for food and drink specials to celebrate at the Argos Official Post-Game Party!
