Argos Re-sign Dhillon, Black

Toronto – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce that 2014 CFL Draft Picks DB Eric Black and OL Jaskaran Dhillon have re-signed with the club through the 2016 season. 

In his rookie season, Black played in four games for the Boatmen, totalling eight (8) defensive tackles and two (2) special teams tackles.  He spent the remainder of the season on the practice roster.  

Black was drafted by the Argos in the 5th round (38th overall) in the 2014 CFL Draft.  That pick was acquired via the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, along with National RB Anthony Woodson on September 9, 2013.  In exchange, the Argos traded National OL Marc Parenteau and a 3rd round pick (DB Anthony Thibault) in the 2014 CFL Draft to Winnipeg.

Dhillon spent all of the 2014 season on the club’s practice roster after he was drafted by the Argos in the 3rd round (21st overall) in the 2014 CFL Draft.  The pick was acquired by Toronto on draft day from the Edmonton Eskimos, along with a 1st round selection which was used to select SB Anthony Coombs 3rd overall.  The Double Blue also received the rights to a negotiation list player.  In exchange, Toronto sent its 1st round pick, 6th overall (WR Devon Bailey), and 2nd round pick, 15th overall (RB Aaron Milton), as well as International OL Tony Washington, International DB Otha Foster and the rights to a negotiation list player.
