TORONTO – The Canadian Football League announced today that Toronto Argonauts quarterback Trevor Harris has been named a Shaw CFL Top Performer of the Month for the month of June/July.
Fourth-year Argonaut Trevor Harris has completed 104-of-139 passing attempts (74.8%) for 1,177 yards and a league-leading 11 touchdowns through the first month of the season. The Edinboro alum has led the Argonauts to a 3-1 record through the team’s unique road trip to start the season. Harris has led the Double Blue to two comeback victories, including a 42-40 overtime thriller in Regina in Week 3 and last week’s 30-27 victory over the BC Lions at BC Place, in which the Argos recorded the third largest road comeback in CFL history after overcoming a 21-point deficit.
In the first month of the 2015 CFL season, Harris was named a Shaw CFL Top Performer of the Week following his performances in Week 1 and Week 2.
Joining Trevor Harris as this month’s Shaw CFL Top Performers are Montreal QB Rakeem Cato and Edmonton’s DL Marcus Howard. The three players were chosen by a panel of judges including former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.
The Toronto Argonauts will close their five-game road trip as they return to Ontario on Monday, August 3 with a visit with their storied rivals, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Tim Hortons Field at 7:00 p.m. ET (TSN, ESPN 3, TSN Radio 1050).
