Argos add International WR Phil Bates

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts announced today that the team has added international receiver Phil Bates to the practice roster. 

Bates, a 6-1, 220-poound native of Ohama, Nebraska, arrives in Toronto after spending time with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys over the last four seasons. 

Bates played two seasons at the Univeristy of Ohio after transfering from Iowa State. As a Bobcat, he was featured through the air, on the ground and as a pass catcher, finishing his career with 94 carries for 640 yards and three rushing touchdowns, 320 passing yards and three passing touchdowns while hauling 15 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown.
