Toronto – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club provided the following update on the location of the team’s regular season home game on Friday, October 23 against the Montreal Alouettes.
“Our next home game scheduled for Friday, October 23 at 7:00 p.m. ET against the Montreal Alouettes will be played at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton.” said Argonauts Executive Chairman & CEO, Chris Rudge. “We have reviewed the ALCS championship schedule and, despite nearly five days between potential baseball home dates, we have been informed by Rogers Centre officials that there is insufficient time to convert the stadium from baseball to football, and then back again, to accommodate our game on the 23rd. The game is to be played in just seven days and the most logical course of action for our team and for our fans is to move on and prepare to play the game at a stadium that is available, meets CFL standards and is broadcast-ready.”
Rudge continued, “We will continue to work on alternate plans for our October 30 home game against the BC Lions should there be another similar conflict with the MLB post-season schedule. Those plans are not yet final but will most likely result in our team playing at Tim Hortons Field. We will communicate the appropriate details as early as possible once a decision is known. Again, we thank everyone for their continued support and patience during this unusual time.”
Fans that have purchased tickets to this game or any 2015 Toronto Argonauts home game that has been, or will be, displaced by the 2015 MLB post-schedule will be fully reimbursed once all disruptions are known. The Argonauts next home game is tomorrow, Saturday, October 17 at 4:00 p.m. ET at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton against the Calgary Stampeders. A win and the Argos will secure their spot in the 103rd Grey Cup Playoffs. Tickets for tomorrow’s game are priced at $35 and $25 (plus applicable fees), and are available by visiting argonauts.ca or ticketmaster.ca
