The Toronto Argonauts made a key move on Day 2 of CFL Free Agency, bringing back speedster Brandon Whitaker through 2016.
Whitaker originally signed with the Argonauts on June 21, 2015 after spending six CFL seasons with the Montreal Alouettes. The 5-10, 200-pound, native of Edmond, Oklahoma ranked second in the East Division in rushing with 121 carries for 636 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns while adding 53 receptions for 440 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns in 15 games last season.
“Brandon Whitaker is one of the best all-around running backs in our game. He is an elusive runner with great hands in the passing game. We are thrilled to have him return to us.” – head coach Scott Milanovich
Whitaker took to Twitter to express his excitement about returning to the Double Blue for another season with an exciting offence and a home Grey Cup on the line.

Speaking of taking to Twitter, it seems Corey Watman, whom the Argos picked up on Tuesday, is also pretty excited to be playing for the team he grew up watching.

With kicker Lirim Hajrullahu joining the Argos as well this season, we knew we’d have some trouble with his tricky last name. Luckily, Lirim was able to help us out with that one.
