TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts announced today that the club has signed Canadian offensive lineman Tyler Holmes to a contract extension through the 2018 CFL season.
Holmes, a 6-4, 305-pound native of Ottawa, Ontario, was originally selected by the Argonauts with the seventh overall pick in the 2011 CFL Draft. After spending the 2012 season with the Minnesota Vikings, Holmes signed with the Argos on September 17, 2013. Since joining the club, the Tulsa product has played in 58 regular season games, starting in 57.

The two-time East Division All-Star started in all 18 regular season games in 2016, marking his third consecutive season without missing a game. Holmes’ strength on the interior of the offensive line played an integral role in paving the way for 2016 East Division rushing leader Brandon Whitaker.
During his time in Toronto, Holmes has also been heavily involved in the Argonauts community initiatives, playing a key role in both the Make the Call campaign and the Huddle Up Anti-Bullying program.
