Championship Rally presented by BMO

With the Toronto Argonauts winning the franchise’s 18th Grey Cup on Sunday, the team announced plans for a public celebration with fans from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at Maple Leaf Square.

The Championship Rally presented by BMO will feature the team hoisting the Grey Cup trophy along with special remarks, programming, retail activations, a live DJ and more. Fans are reminded to dress according to the weather and to wear their Argos colours proudly.

With street closure and ongoing construction in affect in the surrounding area, riding the TTC and GO Transit to Maple Leaf Square is recommended. Fans are encouraged to arrive at 11 a.m. to take advantage of all the action.

Media must request credentials to Victoria.Malisani@mlse.com by Wednesday, November 23 at 12 p.m. Pick up will take place from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Media Check-In located on the left side of the stage closest to Union Station. Only approved media will receive credentials and access to designated media zones.

A pool feed will be made available for the celebration. All media interested in its use are asked to outline this within their credential request.

The following policies are in effect for safety reasons:

  • To safely encourage crowd egress, no fan interviews within the Square are permitted following the conclusion of the event
  • Media must relocate outside the Square for all fan interviews (closer to York Street)
  • Media must exit the Square no later than 30 minutes after the event

Media notes: 

  • Media must request credentials to cover Maple Leaf Square in advance with the number of passes per outlet. Credentials will provide access to designated media zones, riser and pool feed upon request.
  • Due to spatial restrictions and construction, on-site parking is unavailable.
  • Media are to enter the Square through the designated Media Check-In on the left side of the stage closest to Union Station and are required to wear the provided media pass while on site.
  • Credentials may be revoked at any time if outlets do not abide by policies in place for media in the Square.
