Toronto Argonauts Celebrate 2022 Grey Cup Championship as Team Presented Championship Rings

Stunning rings recognize CFL record 18th Championship as team kicks off 150th anniversary season

As the Toronto Argonauts prepare to kick off their 150th anniversary season as defending Grey Cup Champions, the team first celebrated their CFL record 18th title as the players, coaches and team staff were presented their Championship Rings in a private ceremony on Thursday. The Argos’ 2022 Grey Cup Championship rings were crafted by Canadian company Baron® Championship Rings.

“This is a spectacular ring to celebrate a special team and their historic accomplishment last season,” said Bill Manning, President of the Toronto Argonauts. “We are grateful to everyone who made this championship possible and to Baron for capturing the story behind the victory with such a stunning ring.”

The Toronto Argonauts Championship Ring showcases a number of unique elements that combine to tell the story of the team’s 2022 Championship. The encrusted water-themed contoured ring top features a stone-filled sail and the classic Toronto boat logo with a custom brilliant blue sapphire stone sailing on an additional wave of 18 stones representing the organization’s CFL record number of Grey Cup titles. The left shoulder displays the iconic Toronto skyline with six stars symbolizing the number of home wins in 2022.

The right shoulder displays BMO Field with 18 Championship banners hanging with players’ names and stone-filled player numbers. Engraved inside is the team’s internal motto of “A three strand cord is not easily broken,” representing the team’s resilience and honour of playing together. Underneath the motto is the final score of 24-23 in the Grey Cup victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The outside bottom shank of the ring holds the team’s mindset of focusing on going ‘1 and 0’ each and every week. The outside edges hold contrasting brilliant blue stone waves.

“The journey to winning a Championship is one that requires countless hours of hard work and sacrifice but the reward stays with you forever,” said Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons, Toronto Argonauts General Manager. “A Championship Ring is a constant reminder of a tremendous team accomplishment and this ring literally bonds you with your teammates forever.”

Each ring boasts a round diamond count of 308 diamonds with a custom Blue Sapphire top stone in the Boat logo held in the 10 carat White Gold ring to make one of the most stunning rings in league history, celebrating a truly memorable victory in the 109th Grey Cup Championship.

To thank fans for their support, the Argos will present replica Grey Cup championship Rings to the first 10,000 fans entering BMO Field for the team’s home opener on June 18 against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

“The Argos 2022 Championship rings embody dedication, teamwork, and a relentless pursuit of excellence,” said Drina Baron-Zinyk, President of Baron Championship Rings. “Meticulously crafted, each ring stands as a tangible testament to the team’s enduring legacy and pays homage to the individuals who played an instrumental role in securing the organization’s 18th Grey Cup Championship.”

As a Canadian company based in Windsor, Ontario, Baron Championship Rings was deeply honoured to be selected to commemorate the Argos’ 18th Grey Cup Championship. The Baron team is thrilled to unveil the Argos’ 2022 Grey Cup Championship Ring and the countless hours of meticulous detail that went into developing and producing such a highly -detailed design. From working with MLSE and Argos management to a small group of players representing the team, the Argos’ 2022 Grey Cup Championship Rings were a collaborative effort.
