– 2007 CFL Most Outstanding Player and Grey Cup champion QB Kerry
Joseph is coming to the Toronto Argonauts after being acquired in a
trade from the Saskatchewan Roughriders. In exchange for Joseph and a
third round pick in the 2010 CFL Draft, the Argonauts sent OT Glenn
January and DL Ronald Flemons to Regina along with a 2008 first round
draft pick and a 2010 third round draft pick.

are a fantastic group of guys, both veterans who have worked as a tight

winning attitude both on the field and in the community. I can’t wait
for the season to start and to bring a Championship to the city of
Toronto.”
Joseph
had a 2007 season for the ages. His heroics earned him his first CFL
M.O.P award, CFLPA Pro Player of the Year, West Division and CFL
All-Star accolades and a Grey Cup ring. ‘KJ’ threw for 24 touchdowns
and ran for a career high 13, the third highest total among all CFL
players, last year. He led all quarterbacks with 737 rushing yards and
finished third in the CFL in passing yards with 4,002. He propelled the
Roughriders to their first home playoff game since 1988 and was a true
post-season performer, throwing for 600 yards and 3 touchdowns while
rushing for 152 yards in two games. He later became the first
quarterback since Hamilton’s Ken Hobart (110 yards) in 1985 to run for
more than 100 yards in a Grey Cup game.

Joseph
joined the CFL as a free agent with the Ottawa Renegades in 2003 where
he earned the starting job in week 2. He played two more seasons in
Ottawa and, in 2005, became only the third quarterback in CFL history
to throw for 4,000 yards and run for 1,000 yards in a single season.
The Roughriders then selected Joseph with the 1st Overall pick in the
2006 Ottawa Dispersal Draft.
Before
joining the CFL, the McNeese State product spent three seasons as a
safety with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL where he was a two-year
starter. He also played for the London Monarchs and Rhein Fire of NFL
Europa.
