Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce that it has acquired RB Tyler Ebell and WR T.J. Acree from the Edmonton Eskimos in exchange for Argos CB Jordan Younger.

receive a proven receiver who makes tough catches. In order to get
these great players, we had to give up a great player in Jordan Younger
who has been an All-Star for us for many years. We wish him all the
best in his future with the Eskimos.”
Ebell
made an immediate impact in his rookie season in 2007 with the Eskimos,
leading the team with 124 carries for 650 yards and 1 touchdown and
adding another 521 yards and 2 touchdowns in the air. As a result, he
was named the club’s top rookie after starting 11 games at running
back. Prior to joining the Eskies, Ebell had a successful college
career splitting time between playing at UCLA (2002-2003) and the
University of Texas El Paso (2004-2005).
A
three-year CFL veteran, Acree started 9 games at WR for the Eskimos
last season (dressing in 11), finishing the season with a career-high
32 receptions for 478 yards and 3 touchdowns. He joined the Eskimos as
a free agent after spending two seasons with the B.C. Lions. Before
signing with the Lions in 2005, Acree played four years at Boise State,
finishing his career with 107 catches for 1,713 yards and 15 touchdowns
in 45 games.
Jordan
Younger joined the Argos in 2004 as a free agent and played 69 games
over four seasons. He was twice named a CFL All-Star (2005, 2007) and
he was a three-time an East Division All-Star (2005-07) at cornerback.
During his Argos career, he knocked down 31 passes, intercepted 11,
made 189 defensive tackles and won a Grey Cup championship. Jordan was
a dedicated member of the Argonauts’ community efforts and a mentor
with The Argos Foundation – Stop the Violence.
