Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce that import linebackers Greg Cole, Andre Maddox and Richard Seigler have all signed contracts with the club.
A former two-year starter at the University of Kansas, Greg Cole is a well-travelled linebacker who has honed his skills in a variety of
leagues and at a variety of levels. Upon graduating from college, he
signed as an undrafted free agent with the NFL’s San Diego Chargers and
attended training camp. He has also played in the United Indoor
Football League and the National Indoor Football League and was
selected in the fifth round of the Ottawa Dispersal Draft by the
Calgary Stampeders. He was recently a player/coach with the Florida
Kings based in Miami, Florida.
Andre Maddox,
who will try out at both linebacker and safety, made 27 starts over
four seasons and was a team co-MVP as a senior at North Carolina State.
He was named first-team All-ACC as a junior when he led the Wolfpack
with 145 tackles. The New York Jets drafted Maddox in the fifth round
of the 2005 NFL Draft and he spent two seasons on the team’s practice
roster. He later signed with the Minnesota Vikings and played one
season with the Rhein Fire of NFL Europa.
Richard Seigler set an Oregon State record for consecutive starts with 49 straight and
was twice named a first-team All-PAC 10 all-star. He was a fourth round
draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2004 and went on to play seven
games as a rookie. He later signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers and
played two games over two seasons while gaining a wealth of experience
on the team’s practice roster.
