Mississauga – With the 13th overall pick in the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft, the Toronto Argonauts selected CIS All-Canadian WR Mike Bradwell from McMaster University.
Commented Argonauts’ Assistant GM/Director, Player Personnel, Greg Mohns, “We’re extremely excited about the prospect of Mike Bradwell joining the Argonauts family. He is a talented, athletic receiver with outstanding size and speed. We feel he will blend in nicely with our existing Canadian talent at the receiver position.”
Bradwell was a First-Team All-Canadian after leading the CIS in receiving yards (958) and setting McMaster’s all-time school record for receptions in a season with 53 in 2007. He played three seasons for the Marauders after joining the team in his sophomore season. Bradwell attended Leaside High School in Toronto where he was a multi-sport athlete who also excelled in hockey.
Remarked the Argonauts’ first draft pick Mike Bradwell, “I’m ecstatic to be the Argos’ first pick; there isn’t a better place to be in the league. Growing up in Toronto, it is the perfect fit for me. I can’t wait to get to training camp and compete.”
