Over
125 hopefuls attended the 2008 Toronto Argonauts Cheerleader
Preliminary Auditions this past weekend at Diesel Playhouse for a
chance to make it on this year’s squad. After an early 8:00 a.m.
registration, the participants were taught a routine by former Argos
cheerleader Christina and shortly thereafter were in front of the
judges to perform. With the opportunity to advance to the final
auditions on the line, judges Rudy Blair of 680 News, Paola Cimitan
(cheerleader and player relations manager for the Argos), Mailie Harris
and Lance Brass judged the ladies based on their personality, dancing
ability and appearance. In the end, 58 of those who auditioned advanced
to the final auditions taking place on Sunday, March 30 at the Diesel
Playhouse.
