‘pee-wee’ Honoured By Alma Mater

The Toronto Argonauts Football Club would like to
congratulate former CB Adrion “Pee-Wee” Smith on being inducted into
the Missouri State University Athletics Hall of Fame.

The former CFL All-Star returned to Springfield, Missouri this past weekend for the school’s 34th
Annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony which saw him entered alongside
soccer star Jamie Hautzinger Stenmetz, tennis coach Jim Klousia,
baseball star Evan Pratte, field hockey player Kathy Schubert Daniels
and basketball standout Secelia Winkfield. Following a formal ceremony
at the Plaza Hotel in Springfield, Smith and the other inductees were
honoured at the school’s Saturday afternoon basketball game during
halftime.

Smith
was a four-year starter at Missouri State (1990-1993), playing both
defensive back and cornerback and leading his school in interceptions
in every campaign. His 24 career interceptions still sit as the
highest total in both Missouri State and Gateway Football Conference
history. In addition, he also owns the MSU record for career
interception return yards with 230 and pass knockdowns with 37. The
Kansas City native was also a three-time All-Gateway Football
Conference First Team selection and received All-American honours twice.
