Toronto – Recess has
never been as fun and exciting as the Toronto Argonauts are making it
for elementary school students. For the first time ever, the Toronto
Argonauts Football Club kicked off a new interactive program for kids
called the Argo Recess.
The Argonauts have
visited several schools around the GTA and provided a new in-school
program designed to allow elementary school students to participate in
football, sports, and physical activity. This year, the first Argo
Recess took place at Dr. Robert Thornton Public School in Whitby,
Ontario and was a huge success. During an extended 25 minute recess,
kids had the chance to interact with several Argos players like Andre Durie and Khalil Carter, as well as the Argos Cheerleaders.
In addition to Jason, the Argos Mascot, surprising kids at their
recess, students also had a lot of fun enjoying the Argos inflatable
skills zones.
Argo Recess will be held in different communities around the GTA and will run until
the end of the school season. 13 Argo Recesses took place during its
kickoff week and more Argo Recesses will be scheduled into June and
into the fall for the upcoming school year.
