Toronto – The rivalry between the Argos and the Ticats is
the oldest in professional sports and a new generation of Double Blue fans get
to experience it all as the two teams battle it out in preseason action on Thursday,
June 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Rogers Centre. This will be the first sneak
peek the home crowd will have of key Argos
off-season acquisitions including 2007 CFL Most Outstanding Player Kerry
Joseph, two-time Super Bowl Champion Bethel Johnson and 1st round NFL draft pick Willie Middlebrooks.

Argos veterans like Mike O’Shea, Andre
Talbot, Arland Bruce, Jeff Johnson, Byron
Parker and Michael Fletcher, including pre-season, Toronto is 22-4-2 against the Ticats since 2002. Toronto hasn’t lost a regular season game, pre-season game or playoff game to Hamilton at Rogers Centre since July 20, 2001 –
that’s nine straight games under the dome without a loss for Toronto.
The two teams
will face off again at the Argos home opener on July 3 at 7:00 p.m. With the new stadium
configuration, less than 4,000 seats remain for the home opener!!!
Fans are encouraged to act now to secure their tickets and avoid
disappointment.
The June 19
pre-season game will feature members of Canada’s paralypmic team in the fan tunnel and seven-time gold medalist Kirby Cote and gold
medalist Chelsey Gotell handling coin toss duties. Toronto-born
singer/songwriter Tyler-Rose will perform our national anthem and the
fan favourite St. Michaels Majors Drumline will perform at halftime.
Kids are encouraged to arrive early to check out the interactive Generation
A Fan Zone outside of Gate 11, starting at 5:30 p.m.
