full practice before they take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on June 19 at Rogers
Centre the team continued to learn the play book.
Receiver
T.J. Acree, who’s overall effort has impressed onlookers this camp,
hauled in a touchdown pass on last play of practice from QB Cody Pickett. Earlier in the practice, DE Jonathan
Brown showed his quickness and agility by cutting through line and knocking
down a Pickett pass.
CB
Byron Parker adjusted very well on an under-thrown ball and made a nice
interception mid-way through drills.
QB
Michael Bishop threw a TD pass to a diving WR Patrick Johnson during a 3-minute drill in the middle of the endzone. Bishop bootlegged to his
left and fired across his body hitting a streaking Johnson.
Later,
CB Wayne Shaw tipped a Bishop pass and fellow DB Jason Shivers picked it off, taking it back about 20 yards.
A
scary moment towards the end of practice, WR Andre
Talbot leapt high for a QB Bishop pass in the endzone and
landed hard on his back. He was down for a few moments but sprung back up and
was fine, appearing to have the wind knocked out of him.
RB
Andre Durie showed what a great teammate he is by suiting up in full
gear, helmet and all, to join his mates on the practice field despite wearing a
cast on his right wrist. Durie, who needs surgery and is expected to be out 6-9
weeks, was jovially patrolling the sidelines chatting with anyone in his
vicinity. The Canadian tailback injured the wrist in the Argos’
first preseason game in Montreal.
