Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce that three-time East Division All-Star Tim Strickland and DL Claude Harriott have signed practice roster agreements with the club.
Strickland played six seasons and appeared in four Grey Cup championships, winning one in 2002, with the Montreal Alouettes from 2002 to 2007. He became a full-time starter in 2003 and three times was named an East Division All-Star. A pure playmaker, he made 21 sacks, 8 interceptions and 281 defensive tackles during regular season action. He also added 4 sacks, 19 tackles and 1 interception in just six playoff contests.
Harriott played four strong seasons for Big East powerhouse Pittsburgh. He was named All Conference in as a junior in 2002 and started 25 of 26 games. Since being drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 5th round of the 2004 NFL Draft, Harriott has attended training camps with the New York Giants, Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs. He also appeared in a World Bowl championship in 2006 with the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europa.
The Toronto Argonauts also announced that #92 IMP DL Duane Clemons and #96 IMP DL Daryl Whittington have been released.
