The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to welcome Brad Miller as its new Linebackers Coach. Miller arrives in Argos camp in high regard as Head Coach Don Matthews worked with Brad in Edmonton and later hired him in Montreal.
Miller has a wealth of coaching experience from college and the pros that will benefit the Double Blue. He has coached the likes of CFL Hall of Famer, and former Argo, Willie Pless, helping Pless to achieve CFL Outstanding Defensive Player honours and supporting a defence that won a Grey Cup championship for the Eskimos in 1997. In eight seasons as a CFL coach, Miller has only been on one team that didn’t make the post-season, the 1995 Birmingham Barracudas in 1995.
Miller coached two seasons in Montreal (2006-07) as a defensive line coach, with specific focus on the defensive ends, and eventually added Assistant Head Coach to his title. The 2006 Als finished first in the East and boasted a front line that finished fourth in the CFL in sacks. In both 2006 and 2007 his line was among the most proficient at preventing rushing touchdowns in the entire league.
Between coaching stints in Edmonton and Montreal, Miller also coached five seasons with the Green Bay Packers as both a defensive and special teams assistant.
