September 7 in Montreal
Dorsey set a new single-game club record of 225 yards kickoff return yards, including a 92-yard kickoff return touchdown. His effort overshadowed the previous total (224) set by Raghib ‘Rocket’ Ismail in 1992. Dorsey finished the game with 287 combined yards.
September 20 in Calgary
Despite losing 34-4, the 2008 CFL Outstanding Special Teams Player accounted for a single-game career-high 342 combined yards while the Argonauts, as a team, put up 229 net yards on offence. He rushed 7 times for 59 yards, LG 32, caught 2 passes for 25 yards, returned 7 kickoffs for 162 yards, the fourth-highest single-game total in team history, and returned 7 punts for 91 yards. In doing so, he set a new single-season club record for kickoff return yards.
October 3 vs B.C.
RB Jamal Robertson breaks two long touchdown runs (75 and 48 yards) in the second quarter of the game. Both runs are through holes on the left side where offensive tackle Cliff Washburn makes his return to the CFL and starts his first game of the season. The Lions’ star defensive ends (Cameron Wake & Brent Johnson) are held to just two quarterback sacks in a close 24-20 loss.
October 10 in Winnipeg
Rookie DB Jason Shivers picks off two Kevin Glenn passes, the first two interceptions of his career and rookie receiver P.K. Sam has a breakout game with 9 catches for 145 yards. The Argos, wearing their retro jerseys, lost 25-16 despite Kerry Joseph completing a season-best 70.3% (26 of 37) of his passes.
October 18 vs Montreal
Kerry Joseph puts up arguably the best passing totals of his Argonauts career completing 22 of 35 for 400 yards with 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.
On defence, Rookie DB, and former USC star, Will Poole intercepts Anthony Calvillo’s first pass from scrimmage and runs it back to Montreal’s 53-yard line. Four plays later, Joseph passes to Arland Bruce, who deflects the ball into the air only to have it land in Andre Talbot’s hands. Talbot high-steps into the endzone.
Late in the game, WR Reggie McNeal catches a Joseph pass and runs 91-yards for his first CFL major. The shootout ends 44-34 in Montreal’s favour at Rogers Centre.
October 30 vs Saskatchewan
Joseph faces his old team for the first time at Rogers Centre and picks apart the best passing defence in the CFL. He completes 65.8% of his passes and throws a career-high 5 touchdowns en route to being named the CFL Offensive Player of the Week.
CB Byron Parker and LB Willie Pile intercept two passes each during the contest, both from former Argo Michael Bishop.
