Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce the return of OL Jeff Keeping to the Boatmen. The Uxbridge, Ontario native returns to his hometown team through the 2010 season, after spending 2008 with the Montreal Alouettes.
Adam Rita, Argonauts GM/Vice President, Football Operations, commented, “We are glad to have Jeff back. He can play multiple positions for us and his versatility will help our overall picture. He will compete on the o-line and his athleticism should make him a factor in his efforts to help our team.”
Keeping played for the Argos for three seasons, after being drafted by the club in the second round (18th overall) of the 2005 CFL Canadian Draft. He was named the Argo nominee as Most Outstanding Rookie by the Toronto contingent of the FRC in 2005. Over a career that has seen the Western Ontario product play various positions on offence and defence including guard, nose tackle, tight end and fullback, “Keeps” is known as a great locker room guy with a strong work ethic who has overcome injuries.
Keeping remarked, “I’m thrilled to be back in Toronto, rejoin many of my former teammates and meet some new ones. I’m coming off an October surgery and I’m feeling the best I’ve felt in years. I’ve been training, preparing to be ready and come in and compete at a high level. I’m super-excited for my family and friends to be at all my home games and to see the familiar faces of the great Toronto fans in Rogers Centre.”
