Argos Add Patrick Afif To The Offensive Line

Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce that import OL Patrick Afif has signed as a free agent.

Afif (pro: AH-FEEF) most recently played in the AFL with the Arizona Rattlers and was an 11-game starter with the San Jose SaberCats during their Arena Bowl championship run in 2007. Prior to joining the AFL, the California native was a two-year starter at Washington State University where he played in the Holiday Bowl in 2004. Afif transferred to WSU from Orange Coast Junior College where he was named All-American, All-Conference and captured the Mission Conference title as a freshman.

The Argonauts also announced today that LB Matt Hewitt and DS David Lofton, son of James Lofton, will return for 2009 training camp. Hewitt originally joined the team on September 8, 2008 and Lofton arrived on September 23, 2008. Both contracts were then deferred at the end of September until 2009.
