Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts have strengthened their defensive line by signing a pair of defensive ends in Ben Ishola and David McMillan.
Ishola, who was in training camp with the Montreal Alouettes last season, originally signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2006. Following his release from Miami, he signed with the Indianapolis Colts in 2007 and was allocated to the Hamburg Sea Devils of NFL Europa. He was named NFL Europa’s Defensive Player of the Year after recording 22 tackles, five sacks and one forced fumble on the season.
McMillan was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round, 139th overall, in the 2005 NFL Draft and spent three seasons with the team. Prior to joining the Browns, McMillan was a star lineman at University of Kansas where his 19 career sacks still rank seventh on the school’s all-time record list. As a senior in 2004, he was named a First Team All-Big Twelve Conference by the league’s coaches and a Second Team honouree by the Associated Press.
