Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts are pleased to welcome back WR Frank Murphy. Murphy dressed in 16 games and scored 3 touchdowns for the Argos in 2007.
Murphy commented, “I’m grateful to the Argos for this opportunity. This is the best situation for me and my family. I am confident in the direction that the new coaching is taking the team and I love the city, especially the fans who make it so enjoyable to play here. I know how important the Toronto community is to the Argos and it’s just as important to me. This time, I want to work as hard off the field as I do on the field. I also want to thank god for blessing me with the ability to be an athlete and a role model. Now let’s pull together and get to the Grey Cup in Calgary.”
Murphy started 14 games at receiver for the Argonauts after signing as a free agent during training camp in 2007. He finished the season with 37 catches for 614 yards and 2 touchdowns, and 11 carries for 49 yards and 1 touchdown. He enjoyed his best game statistically on August 10 versus Saskatchewan when he caught 7 passes for 122 yards at Rogers Centre.
The Toronto Argonauts also announced today that receivers Jeron Harvey and Abraham Morlu have been released.
