The Toronto Argonauts Football Club would like to congratulate former assistant coach Darrel “Mouse” Davis on completing an impressive coaching career that spanned 50+ years. The former Argos Offensive Coordinator officially announced his retirement Monday.
Davis joined the Argos in 1982 under the guidance of Head Coach Bob O’billovich and instantly helped turn the Double Blue into contenders with the quarterback duo of Joe Barnes and Condredge Holloway. The Argos reached the Grey Cup that season for the first time in a decade.
Despite his departure prior to the 1983 season, the Boatmen would go on to capture the Grey Cup with the offence that Davis installed. Davis returned briefly in 1993 under O’Billovich one more time. He finished his career as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Portland State University.
