Toronto – It’s been a long off-season for Double Blue fans and now their wait for all of the action of Argos football is coming to an end. On Wednesday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Rogers Centre, the Boatmen will face off against the reigning East champion Montreal Alouettes. The game marks the first with new Head Coach Bart Andrus at the helm as he and his coaching staff see if the reloaded Argonauts can take the intensity they have found on the practice field into the game.
Wednesday night’s battle will allow fans to get their first glimpse of off-season acquisitions OT Rob Murphy, C Dominic Picard, LB Zeke Moreno and LB Jason Pottinger as they don the double blue uniform for the first time. As well, an astounding 10 Argos players from the GTA including defensive backs Matt Black and Delroy Clarke, running backs Andre Durie and Jeff Johnson, offensive guards Jeff Keeping and Richard Zulys, and receivers Andre Talbot and Mike Bradwell are expected to suit up for their hometown team.
The 2009 Argos Cheerleaders, presented by the Toronto Sun, will debut their new squad and cheer on QB Kerry Joseph and his Boatmen against Anthony Calvillo and his Als. Following the game, it’s the return of the popular See You On The Field autograph session where fans can come down onto the field after the final whistle blows. Supporters are invited to join Argos players and cheerleaders at the Official Post-Game Party at Jack Astor’s, 144 Front Street West, in downtown Toronto.
