Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce that speedy import WR Cory Rodgers has been added to the team’s practice roster and non-import DS/LB Tang Bacheyie (pro: TUNG BA-CHAY) has been added to the club’s active roster. Both players were in 2009 training camp with the B.C. Lions.
Rodgers originally joined the CFL with the B.C. Lions in 2007 and in 21 games he caught 35 passes for 462 yards and 5 touchdowns. After an impressive career at Texas Christian University, where he set several school kick return and offensive records, he was taken in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.
Bacheyie was selected by the B.C. Lions in the fourth round (29th overall) of the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft. A pure athlete who grew up in Windsor, Ontario and played in three OFSAA football championships in high school, he went on to play four productive seasons at the University of Kansas. Bacheyie attended this year’s training camp with the Lions before being added to the team’s practice roster to start the season.
