Medlock A Lock For Special Teams Player Of The Month

Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club would like to congratulate K/P Justin Medlock who is a unanimous selection for CFL Special Teams Player of the Month in August.

Medlock was nearly perfect in field goal kicking in August. In three games, he was 10 of 11 (90.9%), including a club record-tying 7 for 7 performance against the BC Lions on August 14 at Rogers Centre. He accounted for 34 total points (30 field goal points and 4 converts), averaged 59.1 yards on 19 kickoffs and 41.4 yards on 31 punts including a long of 55 yards vs. Montreal on August 7.

Medlock earned CFL Special Teams Player of the Week for the first time in his career following the August 14 game (CFL Week 7), and this is the first time in his career that he has been named CFL Special Teams Player of the Month.

Argos players have had a stranglehold on the special teams category over the past several seasons. Including this nomination, an Argonaut has won three of the past six CFL Special Teams Player of the Month awards.
