TORONTO – Just before Argos President & CEO, Bob Nicholson, officially announced a resolution for the Argos long-awaited coaching search, he put to rest another issue within the Argos upper management that has been questioned throughout the 2009/2010 off-season.
Nicholson approached the microphone at the media gathering held in a downtown Toronto hotel and laid to rest any speculation regarding the status of current G.M. & Vice President of Football Operations, Adam Rita by announcing that he would continue in his role for the 2010 season.
“Adam has provided leadership that has brought this club three division championships in four out of the six seasons that he has been G.M. and certainly has played a number of roles throughout his career.”
There has been much speculation all off-season regarding Rita’s status as general manager but Nicholson implied that the veteran’s resume speaks for itself.
“He certainly has played a number of roles for this team and he has three rings, one as an offensive coordinator, one as a head coach and one as a general manager.”
Rita is under contract to the Argos through to the end of the 2010 season.
