MISSISSAUGA – The Toronto Argonauts are pleased to announce that import RB/kick returner DeCori Birmingham has signed with the club.
Birmingham played four seasons at the University of Arkansas where he set a school record with more than 1,300 career kickoff return yards. In 49 games for the Razorbacks, he accumulated 1,151 rushing yards on 233 carries and was an 11-game starter as a senior. In 2007, the Texas-native played five games for the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europa where he tallied 409 all-purpose yards. Birmingham spent the past two seasons on the Carolina Panthers’ practice roster and has been on rosters with the New England Patriots, New York Jets, New York Giants and Indianapolis Colts.
Jim Barker, Head Coach, Toronto Argonauts, remarked, “We were interested in DeCori because he is a very versatile athlete. An excellent inside runner, DeCori is also very comfortable as a receiver and he has always been an outstanding returner. We are excited to watch him compete at training camp.”
