As active, healthy individuals we can do something that will make a difference. As an individual or as a team you can join CFL players and others in an uphill climb to help fight cancer. Support and funds raised will be donated to the Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton. Together we can move mountains!
On Saturday May 15 members of the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats will once again be joining forces in the Ron Lancaster Memorial Climb as part of the fourth annual Climb for Cancer. The pledge-based fundraising event held in Hamilton at the Chedoke Golf Course Escarpment Stairs is organized by Toronto Argonaut, and Hamilton native, RB Bryan Crawford.
Participants climb nearly 300 steps of the Hamilton escarpment stairs for the duration of one hour in support of Juravinski Cancer Centre (JCC). Toronto Argonauts participants this year include: Bryan Crawford, Brad Crawford, Jason Pottinger, Andre Durie, Mike Bradwell, and Matt Black, climbing alongside Hamilton Tiger-Cats: Jason Shivers, Will Poole, Agustin Barrenechea, Yannick Carter, Ray Mariuz, mascots Pig Skin Pete & Stripes and members of both the Argos and Tiger-Cats cheerleading teams.
The Lancaster Memorial Climb will be taking place from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. and will be followed by a Tailgate BBQ hosted by CFL Fans Fight Cancer. In addition to the Ron Lancaster Memorial Climb, this year’s event will once again feature the Climb for Cancer Wellness Fair, and new to the event will be the Climb for Cancer 5km Walk/Run beginning at the stairs and following along the beautiful Niagara Escarpment Rail Trail from 11:00-12:00.
Take on the challenge and climb alongside the Argos and Ticats or simply come out and support those climbing. For more information, to register, pledge or donate visit www.myclimbforcancer.com
