TORONTO — The Argonauts opened the scoring in their second drive of the game when Noel Prefontaine hit a 21-yard field goal. The score was set up by a 48-yard catch-and-run by Chad Owens.
After a Damon Duval single, the Argos were on their own two yardline when Cory Boyd busted through a group of tacklers and went up field for a career-high 64-yard gain. The drive would stall however, as Noel Prefontaine missed a chip-shot 29-yard field goal and the Argos came away with nothing. Duval would add a 38-yard field goal on the ensuing drive to put the Esks out in front to an early 4-3 lead.
The Eskimos would open up the scoring with 10:39 left in the second quarter when Ricky Ray hit receiver Jason Barnes over the middle for a 43-yard touchdown pass to go up 11-3.
Ray would engineer an impressive 65-yard, 8-play drive which he would finish himself with a nine-yard touchdown scamper to put the Eskimos up 19-3 heading into half time.
Ray blew the game wide open when he hit Fred Stamps in the back of the endzone with 3:20 left in the third quarter 20 go up 31-3.
The Argos would record their first major of the game with 5:19 left in the game when Steven Jyles hit RB Jeff Johnson in stride for a 13-yard touchdown to finish off a 10-play, 85-yard drive.
