OAKVILLE — Toronto Argonauts linebacker Tang Bacheyie underwent season-ending surgery Thursday to repair a neck injury.
The Windsor, Ont., native was hurt in the second quarter of Saturday’s loss at B.C. while making a special teams tackle. Head coach Jim Barker said the Argos initially thought Bacheyie suffered a concussion, but an X-ray revealed the neck injury. Barker said the team has been told by doctors that at this point they don’t believe the injury is career-threatening.
The Argonauts family would like to thank Tang for his dedication and hardwork all season long. We wish him well and we all hope for a speedy, successful and safe recovery.
