As the Argos enter the final week of the regular season, much has been debated over whether or not the Boatmen should dress all of the feature playmakers or sit them in the interest of remaining healthy heading into the playoffs.

Ultimately, that decision comes down to head coach Jim Barker. Should he decide to dress WR/KR Chad Owens, the electrifying first-year Argo could very well topple more Argos records before coming back to Toronto to prepare for the East Semi-Final.

Owens already hit the 1,000-yard mark last week in both kickoff and punt return yardage on the season, making him only the third player in the history of the CFL East Division to do so.  With that record out of the way, here is a look at where Owens sits in both the team and league record books heading into the regular season’s final week:

CFL RECORD: ALL-TIME KICK RETURN YARDS (SEASON)
Owens is already the Argos’ all-time leader for most total kick return yards (punt returns + kickoff returns + missed field goal returns) in a season, and now he’s close to breaking the league’s single season record held by Eric Blount and set in 1998.

CFL RECORD: 1,000 PUNT & KICK RETURN YARDS (SEASON)
Owens is now just the fifth player in CFL history (second player in team history and third in the history of the East Division) to accumulate 1,000 punt and kickoff return yards in a single season.

TORONTO ARGONAUTS RECORD: ALL-TIME KICK RETURN TOUCHDOWNS (SEASON)
Owens now has four kick return touchdowns in 2010. He is now in sole possession of second place for most return touchdowns in an Argonauts’ regular season. Owens is behind Bashir Levingston who had five (5) return TDs in 2003.
