TORONTO – The first of a two-day selection process to find the 2011 Argos Cheerleaders presented by the Toronto Sun began Saturday morning at Renaissance Hotel in downtown Toronto.
The day started with all of the cheer hopefuls following the lead of veteran cheerleader and team captain Brigitte who took them through the audition dance routine. A 45-minute practice session led to individual auditions which were performed in front of a panel of judges including Head Coach Jorie Brown, Miami Dolphins cheerleader alumnus Stefanie Williams and Argos cheerleader alumnus Rochelle Stultz.
Following a lengthy deliberation process, the first round of hopefuls were chosen to move on to a one-hour professional fitness session and eventually the next round of the auditions which will take place Sunday. In all, 90 cuts were made, leaving 33 finalists competing for 23 coveted spots.
