Starting this Saturday, Mike Hogan (play x play) and Sandy Annunziata (colour) will team up for the rest of the 2011 season, at home and on the road in Hamilton, to bring Argos fans all of the game action over the radio airwaves on TSN 1050 Radio. Hogan and Annunziata first developed their on-air chemistry when they co-hosted an Argos radio show that aired during the 2008 season.
Mike Hogan is a favourite of Argos supporters and this will mark his seventh season filling the role of the team’s play by play commentator. Known as a football fanatic, Hogan is already the host of pre-game, halftime and post-game Argos shows, and often incorporates football of all levels in his show “Game Day”, airing weekends from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on TSN Radio 1050. Known as the voice of the Argos (2000-2001, 2007-2010), Hogan has provided the radio play-by-play of 13 Vanier Cup games and has also called hockey, boxing and hoops on radio and television. He was also a member of the CIS Football Top-10 Committee.
Since retirement from football, following an 11-year CFL career including six years as an Argo, Sandy Annunziata has become an important and recognized voice for football in Canada. A two-time Grey Cup champion, with both Toronto in 2004 and Edmonton in 2005, Annunziata has served as a CFL analyst on television, on the radio and even flexes his creative muscle with a weekly CFL column on Yahoo.ca. The former Western Ontario Mustang won a Vanier Cup championship in 1989 and has many years of professional and college football experience draw from and share with fans.
TSN Radio 1050 is the new radio home for all Argonauts games for the 2011 and 2012 seasons. All pre-season, regular season and playoff games through the Eastern Final will be broadcast on TSN Radio1050 either through live radio broadcast or simulcast. Starting Saturday, August 13, all Argos home games as well as those played in Hamilton will feature the original radio broadcast team of Mike Hogan and Sandy Annunziata. All other road games will continue to be simulcast from the television broadcast and its roster of award-winning analysts.
