MISSISSAUGA – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club would like to congratulate WR Brandon Rideau on being named CFL Offensive Player of the Week. This is the first time in his young CFL career that Rideau has won this award. He is the second Argonauts player to earn a weekly award in 2011.
Rideau had the best performance of his career thus far during a tough 37-32 loss last week at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton. The former Kansas Jayhawk caught six passes for a career-high 147 yards and scored two touchdowns. His career-long 69-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter was also the Argos’ longest play from scrimmage this season. It was the first time Rideau had caught for over 100 yards in his career and it was also the first multi-touchdown game of his career. Rideau now has three touchdowns in six regular season games for the Boatmen this season.
