MISSISSAUGA – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club would like to congratulate K/P Noel Prefontaine on being named CFL Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the team’s Week 8 win against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Prefontaine is the third Argos player to earn a CFL weekly award in 2011.
Prefontaine blasted 7 punts for 340 yards and averaged a staggering 48.6 yards per kick in last Thursday’s 24-18 win against the Roughriders. He was also perfect on all three of his field goal attempts, two from more than 40 yards (27, 47 & 44), and was 2 of 2 in converts. In all, he accounted for 11 of the Argos’ 24 points. This is the tenth time in his career that Prefontaine has been named CFL Special Teams Player of the Week and the eighth time as an Argo.
