Toronto – After dropping two against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers so far this season, the Argos have a chance to avenge their losses this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Rogers Centre. Presented by Tim Horton’s, Saturday’s game will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 1991 Grey Cup Championship team. With 30 players from the historic team in attendance, including Raghib “Rocket” Ismail, Carl Brazley, Rodney Harding, Chris Gaines, Don Moen, Paul Masotti, Michael “Pinball” Clemons, Dan Ferrone, Matt Dunigan, Ed Berry and Mike “Crush” Campbell, it will surely be a reunion to remember.
The pre-game festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. outside of Gate 11 at Rogers Centre with inflatables, music, the Toronto Sun photowall, a Marc Angelo Foods barbeque and a poutine eating contest. Additionally, Jones Soda will be sampling product outside Gate 5.
Pre-game will feature Timbits minor football with players from the Mississauga Football League forming the fan tunnels as Argos greats Hank Ilesic and Lance Chomyc handle kick off duties. Tim Horton’s store owners will also be recognized during the game for their support of the Argos’ Level the Playing Field program which has returned football teams to a total of 10 GTA high schools.
After the game, the See You on the Field returns. Fans can come down on the field to meet many of the Toronto Argonauts players and cheerleaders for autographs and photos. Following See You On The Field, supporters are invited to head over to the Official Post-Game Party at Jack Astor’s, 144 Front Street West, to say hi to some of your favourite Argos players and the 2011 Argos Cheerleaders, presented by the Toronto Sun. Select domestic beer is available for only $4 (plus taxes) after the game.
