The Toronto Argonauts would like to congratulate Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons and Mike Vanderjagt on being named to the Oakville Sports Hall of Fame.
Along with being one of the most recognized athletes in Toronto’s history, Clemons, who has made Oakville his home, spent 11 seasons as a player with the Argos before becoming a Grey Cup winning coach and current vice-chair of the Argonauts. The Canadian Football Hall of Famer has his name all over both the CFL and Argos record books but may be best known for the work he has done off the field and in the community.
Oakville resident Vanderjagt spent three seasons with the Argos (1996-97, 2008), winning back-to-back Grey Cups in the mid-1990s before going on to have a record-setting career in the National Football League. He returned to Toronto for his final professional football season in 2008 before retiring from the game.
Vanderjagt and Clemons join former kickers Zenon Andrusyshyn and Steve Christie, as well as OL Dan Ferrone as former Argos who are currently in the Oakville Sports Hall of Fame.
