MISSISSAUGA – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce that 2011 CFL Canadian Draft pick DL Gregory Alexandre has re-signed with the Double Blue and free agent DL/LB Jonathan Pierre-Etienne has signed on. Both are products of the University of Montreal and both have inked contracts through 2014.
Alexandre was drafted by Toronto in the fifth round, 35th overall, in the 2011 CFL Canadian Draft after a productive 4-year career at Montreal. There, he was named a QUFL all-star each year and was a first-team all-Canadian as a junior. Alexandre spent all of 2011 on the Argos’ practice roster.
Pierre-Etienne was originally drafted by the B.C. Lions in the 5th round, 37th overall, of the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft. He began his college career at Rutgers in 2005 and spent two seasons there. He transferred home, to the University of Montreal, in 2008. In 2011, he was named second-team all-Canadian after setting a school record with 10 quarterback sacks.
