HAMILTON — After announcing his retirement as an Argonaut, Jeremaine Copeland wasted little time on moving into the coaching ranks with the Argos’ provincial rival.
Copeland was named to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ coaching staff by new sideline boss George Cortez and will take on the role of receivers coach.
“During his playing career, Jeremaine was more than just a great athlete. His preparation and attention to detail in the meeting room was unmatched. We’re confident that those qualities, along with his familiarity with our offence, will make Jeremaine an asset to our team,” said Cortez.
Copeland enters coaching after wrapping up an outstanding CFL career as a player. In 11 seasons with three teams, Copeland made 622 receptions and became just the 15th player in league history to record over 10,000 receiving yards. He was named a divisional all-star three times and a CFL all-star twice, while capturing two Grey Cup championships.
